New four-way stop in La Vergne

The City of La Vergne will be installing new stop signs at Hollanridge and Toyna Drives, making it a four-way stop. We will be installing them on Monday Aug. 2 and they will be covered until Mon. Aug. 16th. We will also install stop ahead signs and 4-way signs on the stop signs.

City receives 15th straight GFOA Award

Rutherford County Curb-Side Pick Up

Rutherford County will be doing curb-side pick up of storm damaged property and debris. County crews will begin pick up on Tuesday, May 18th for those individuals that have registered with Rutherford County Emergency Management (RCEMA) and FEMA.

City to re-enforce parking ban Monday

The City of La Vergne's ban on parking on the streets will go back into effect on Monday, May 24, according to Mayor Ronnie Erwin. He had lifted the ban on May 3 because of the flooding.

Convience Center Reopened

The City has been able to reopen the Cleanup Center on Old Nashville Highway. The City was able to have additional dumpsters brought in late Saturday afternoon, said Mayor Ronnie Erwin. We are sorry for any inconvenience that the temporary closing may have caused.

Convience Center Full

Due to the response, the Convience Center on Old Nashville Highway is full until Monday. Citizens can still take items to the Rutherford County Dump for a small fee. The Convience Center will re-open Monday morning. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Mayor urges TEMA to declare Ruth. Co. a disaster area

Mayor Ronnie Erwin is not happy with the fact that Rutherford County was not included in the TEMA disaster area list, released yesterday.

As a result, he has urged state Senator Jim Tracy to meet with Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey today to discuss the possibility of including Rutherford County.

We will inform you of the results of the meeting as time progresses.

Mayor instructs department to audit water meters

Mayor Ronnie Erwin has heard rumors that there are some meters in La Vergne that are not being billed and are not accounted for. Therefore, he is asking for the water department and public works to conduct an audit of all of the water meters in town, making sure each one is accounted for. He also wants the departments to ensure that each of the meters is being billed the proper amount each month. This audit should begin immediately.

Trash and Brush Cleanup Center Added

A Temporarily Cleanup Center is being setup at 670 Old Nashville Highway. The center will be available for citizens to bring their damaged household items (furniture, carpet, drywall, wood, brush, etc.) for the next few days. The Center will be open from 8AM till 8PM.

Parking on streets ban lifted for two weeks

Because of the water issues in surrounding citizes, people are coming to La Vergne to stay with relatives and friends. Due to this, Mayor Ronnie Erwin and Police Chief Ted Boyd have lifted the ban on parking on streets for two weeks ONLY.

REMA helping La Vergne citizens

Mayor Ronnie Erwin has announced that the Rutherford County Emergency Management agency is in town and are going to the four sections of town, helping people out who are stranded in their homes or need assistance. A police officer will be going with them.

Also, TEMA approved the disaster area request last night and are on their way to La Vergne to assess the damage.

Mayor Ronnie Erwin has announced that he is declaring the City of La Vergne a disaster area, he said tonight. With the blessing of Rutherford County Ernest Burgess, Erwin is going to send an e-mail to TEMA to get the process started.

Speed limit change on Lake Road

Next week, the City will be posting a 35 mph speed limit on Lake Road from the start of the La Vergne city limits to Waldron Road. Lake Road runs next to Rock Springs Elemtary School and is the road to get to McFarland Pointe subdivision.
