Mayor's letter to Citizens
An advocate for transparency in government, Mosley was sworn in as
Mayor of La Vergne on November 18, 2010. "Being in
communication with the citizens has been my platform since I’ve
been in politics," said Mosley. "Staying in touch with
citizens is my job. If you forget who you work for, you’re of no
use."
Mosley began her political career in 2004 through her passion for
equitable treatment of the county schools. She was elected to the
office of Alderman and quickly spearheaded efforts to televise
citizen comments. In addition, she was instrumental in starting
both the Box 100 rehabilitation response unit (to support
first-response personnel during emergencies) and acquiring a
Haz-Mat Trailer for La Vergne (to provide services to the
Hazardous Material Team and function as command post during
emergency events).
As Mayor, Mosley serves as chair of the Economic Development
Advisory Committee, and is a member of both the Planning
Commission and Stormwater Appeals and Advisory Board.
Before her public service years, Mosley was GED instructor for
McGavock Adult Education Program and an educational assistant
for Rutherford County Schools. She is a 1978 graduate of Martin
Westview High School and attended the University of Tennessee
at Martin for three years.
Mosley has been a resident of La Vergne for more than 21
years. She is married to husband, Ronnie, who is a captain in the
Nashville Fire Department. They have four children and two
grandchildren.
