Elected to office as Alderman in 2002, Mayor Erwin is a former regional manager for a finance company, was a bail bondsman and now is employed as an automotive broker. He said he ran for office because "people need a leader and I am a leader. I am honest, a people person and will be available to talk to people."
He was chosen as Vice Mayor in 2004 and elected to the position of Mayor in 2006.
A 1979 graduate of Riverdale High School, he said being semi-retired gives him more time to dedicate to the job of being Mayor.
Mr. Erwin is a member of the La Vergne Planning Commission; the Regional Transportation Authority; the La Vergne Rotary, and coaches a La Vergne Little League team.
He has five children, Christopher, Meagan, Mitchell, Little Ronnie and Linn and two grandchildren Brison and Pasiley.
