The City of La Vernge enforces Building Codes and Municipal
Codes regarding Zoning, Property Maintenance, Safety.
The City's Codes Department is responsible for reviewing
new residential and commercial building plans, conducting
building inspections of commercial, industrial and
residential buildings, and issuing permits and certificates
of occupancy.
The 2006 International Building and Residential Codes is the
code currently being followed by the City of La Vergne.
All the City’s inspectors and Codes officials are certified
by the ICC and are recognized by the Building Officials
Codes Association (BOCA).

Inspections
Building Inspectors are responsible for inspecting residential
and commercial buildings. They check everything from the
footing to the final inspection of the home or building.
Inspections can be scheduled Monday through Friday between the
hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm by calling (615) 213-2624.

Complaints
Citizens are encouraged to call and comment on properties and
other areas of their neighborhoods. A visit to the place in question
will be made and an Inspector will speak with the owner or leave a
complaint notice or citation. Comments can be made on-line using
the comment form or by calling
(615) 213-2624.

Permits
Permits, except for Electrical Permits, may be obtained
Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and
4:30pm.
Electrical Permits, which are required by the State, may be
obtained in Murfreesboro, on the square at One South Public
Square. Call (615) 896-6117 for all Electrical Permit
questions.
