The City Recorder department is headed by
City Recorder Bruce Richardson.
This department is responsible for the organization and upkeep
of City records. These records include: Minutes of Meetings,
Ordinances, Resolutions, Deeds, Easements, Contracts, and
other necessary legal information.
The City Recorder or his designee attends all regular and special
City Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings, Board of
Zoning Appeals meetings, Beer Board meetings, Construction Board
of Adjustment and Appeals meetings and the Stormwater Appeals and
Advisory Board meetings.
This department prepares and distributes agendas, materials,
minutes, and records for all meetings.
The City Recorder is the official custodian of official City
Records and public documents.
This department provides public records and information to
citizens, civic groups, the media and other agencies as requested.

This department also contains the City Court Clerk's Office.

The Honorable Judge Guy Dotson, Jr. presides over the City Court. He
has been the city judge since 1994.
Ms. Donna Ruch is the City Court Clerk. Ms. Ruch started working
for the City of La Vergne Police Department in November, 1989. Hired
for the records department, she spent 10 years dispatching and working
with the LPD records department (which included City Court). In 1995,
Donna was promoted to Supervisor of Dispatch and Records. She held this
position until June, 1999.
In October, 2000, City Court functions were separated from the Police
Records Department and moved over to City Hall.
