The Human Resources Department is headed by
Anya Ryan.
The primary goal of the City of La Vergne Human Resource Department
is to provide a quality workforce to carry out the services
provided by the City for the citizens of our community.

SALARIES:
Employee salaries are approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
They may on an annual basis approve increases equivalent to
approximately 3%.

BENEFITS:
Employees benefits are approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
All benefits become available to full-time employees after a
90 day probationary period.
Insurance
The following employee insurance premiums are paid 100%.
- Health Insurance for regular full time employees and their
dependents.
- Life Insurance for full time employees, their spouse and
children.
- Vision Care ($50 for eye exam and $300 for glasses per year.)
- Dental Insurance for full time employees and their
dependents. ($1,500 per year)
- Disability Insurance. (60% of salary)
- Employee Assistance Program - Confidential and Personal counseling.
Banking and Retirement
The following employee banking and retirement benefits are available.
- 401(a) Retirement Plan (fully vested from enrollment date)
- 457 Deferred Compensation Plan administered by ICMA Retirement Corp.
- Credit Union - sponsored by Ascend Credit Union.
Paid Time-Off
The following are Paid Time-Off benefits.
- Sick Leave(SL) - 9 days per year
- Personal Leave(PTO) - 3 days per year
- Vacation Leave(VL)
- 5 days for 1st year of employment
- 10 days for 2nd year through 9th year of employment
- 15 days for 10th year of employment
- 16 days for 11th year of employment
- etc.
Longevity Pay
The following are additional benefits.
- Based on years of employment with the City of La Vergne.
- Full-time employees receive $50 per year up to a maximum of $700
- Part-time employees receive a $50 Christmas bonus
(dependent on hire date and issue date of bonus)

- Day After Thanksgiving - Fourth Friday In November
- Christmas Eve - Twenty-Fourth Day In December
- Christmas Day - Twenty-Fifth Day In December
- Employee's Birthday - Determined By Documentation

CLASSIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Regular, full-time:
Works 40 hours or more per week and are entitled to all
benefits and privileges of employment determined by the
Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
- Part-time:
Works 30 hours per week or less are not entitled
to benefits.
- Temporary:
May work 40 hours per week, but employment is time
limited. These employees are not entitled to benefits.
- Seasonal:
These employees are hired at a particular season of
the year and terminated at the end of that season.
They are not entitled to benefits.
