The La Vergne Public Library is one of the cultural centers of the La Vergne community.
With a variety of activities for all ages, the library boasts more than 72,645 items
and 33,746 card-carrying patrons.
The library offers interactive story times for babies, toddlers and preschool-aged
children (the schedules can be picked up in the library or viewed on-line) which
include stories, music and other activities.
The library offers a variety of books on quite a few subjects and offers fiction,
non-fiction and juvenile books, audio books on CD and cassette, magazines, videos,
compact disks and DVD's for the public to check out.
In addition, the following is also offered to the public: a fax machine for sending
and receiving, laminating machines, die cutting machines, computers for Internet
and word processing, computer software, and a variety of home school materials.
The La Vergne Public Library is also a participant in the R.E.A.D.S. program, you

Every summer, from June 1 – July 31, the library – in association with the La Vergne
Parks and Recreation Department -- hosts a Summer Reading and Activities Program
which allows school-aged children to enjoy reading and activities during their time
off from school.
Other special programs – including Breakfast with Santa at Christmas and Gross Grub
at Halloween – take place throughout the year.
Tennessee Electronic Library
The La Vergne Public Library offers its patrons access to the Tennessee Electronic
Library. The Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) is a collection of 33 databases that
provide access to over 400,000 magazines, newspapers, essays, podcasts, videos,
e-books, primary source materials, and more! You may access the TEL by visiting

Your library card number is your password.
HeritageQuest Online
The La Vergne Public Library also offers access to the HeritageQuest Online
genealogical services. This service is available from the Tennessee Electronic
Library (TEL). You may access HeritageQuest Online directly by visiting
http://www.heritagequestonline.com.
The library is now offering the following databases free to our patrons. They
can be accessed on the library computers, or at home from the library’s website.
