ENTERTAINER INFORMATION:
The selection of the 2010 Entertainers is complete.
Adeline (11:00am)
On a hot summer day in June of 2008, a band was formed out of the depths of a
southern baptist church in Middle Tennessee. After some member changes and a
new direction over the next year Adeline was born. With punchy guitar riffs,
sweeping bass licks and harmonies that rival that of angels, Adeline is a
Power Pop/Rock group focused on spreading the love of Christ through their
talent and music.
Adeline was originally formed as a college-age praise band for Miracle Baptist
Church. Members included guitarists Joe and Kenny, drummer Justin and vocalist
John. Joe and Justin were members of the Youth praise band years earlier and
also played in a band outside of church during their high school years. They
decided that it was time to move the band forward and take it to the next level.
After a few member changes, vocalist Miranda and bassist Nathan joined the ranks
and the current line-up took shape and a band was formed.
However, the name didn’t come easy at first. After much debate and discussion,
they stumbled onto a list of baby names, left from a Sunday school class,
written on the board in their bible study room. On that list was Adeline and
it clicked.

"I am so excited about this project, about all the new things we are getting
accomplished and being able to have some songs in my new album ready for my fans.
I really wanted lyrics that portrayed the type of woman I am and songs that people
could listen to and say, "that's my song". I'm writing with some amazing
writers and I can't wait to see what we come up with to complete the CD. My goal
for this album is for my fans get to know who I am and that my music will make a
difference in their lives."

Twelve South (12:20pm)
www.twelvesouthband.com
Twelve South, a band based in Middle Tennessee, is comprised of six guys who
love music and love God. Yet, they consider themselves a different kind of
Christian band – one that isn’t afraid of dirty hands and digging in to do
the work involved in God’s kingdom.
The members write songs about real-life situations and their pasts. They view
themselves as a group of normal guys with God-given talents they are using
together, reaching out to people through their lyrics. Their lyrics don’t have
to be an obvious cry out to the lost, but the message is in all of their songs.
They hope through the venues where they choose to perform and through their
secular rock, pop and acoustic sound that they will begin to reach out to the
world. They are simply Christians in a band with a mission to use their talent
and music to help their fans dig deeper and uncover their hearts.
Twelve South began as a one-time gig. Alex was asked by a friend to perform for
a church youth lock-in. Alex agreed on the condition he could find a band. He
recruited from among fellow church members on praise teams, friends, and friends
of friends. Out of this gig, three Twelve South members emerged. Alex, Jeremy
and Scott all began to write together and stir around the idea of a band. With
a friend as a temporary bassist, no drummer and waiting for an electric-guitar
player return from the Dominican Republic, they explored the avenues of playing
together. They began playing shows with fill-in members and without keys since
Scott was on drums until the lineup was set. They also began playing under the
name Downpour, until confusion arose since the name was also a part of the
Calvary Baptist Church college ministry. At this point the guys needed a name
for their new band. They began to think of ideas, and after much deliberation,
they found a solution. They wrote down words on pieces of paper and threw them
in a baseball cap. They picked the words out two at a time. "Twelve"
and "South" were the first two picked. The guys liked it, but they
continued to draw names. After coming up with some names that didn’t work like
"Nerf Helmet", they decided Twelve South was as good as it was going
to get.

Mason Douglas (2:00pm)
www.masondouglasmusic.com
"Putting everything you love back into country music".
That is what Mason Douglas set out to do and that is exactly what he has
fiercely done with his distinctive declaration of country music, soul,
blues, and rock. There’s a saying around Nashville…a mantra among
songwriters: "It All Begins With a Song". For Mason Douglas,
it not only begins with a song…it grabs the listener, crosses every one
of their emotional frontiers, and continues to live even after breaking
through every single boundary.
Mason’s fans have become addicted to his distinguished diversity, some
saying he sounds like Chris Isaak with his signature, sexy falsettos;
some saying Garth Brooks with his honesty and range; and others even
saying he’s "country music’s Rob Thomas".
Mason has spent his lifetime chasing country music before making his way
to Nashville and grabbing it by the horns. Growing up an Air Force Brat
in deserts of Tucson, Arizona, he had his fair share of range life, fake
IDs, broken hearts, and country music on the airwaves. His mother taught
him how to ride a horse, his father taught him dedication and persistence,
his sister taught him how to sing, and a few ex-girlfriends taught him how
to write a song. He sifted though his parent’s record and tape collections,
full of rodeo albums from Chris LeDoux and classics from George Strait,
all of which he drew from when he started singing and playing guitar and
finding new audiences throughout the southwest.

If this will not work for you or if you require more amperage,
you will need to your own generator. If you have had problems
with this in the past, you must bring your own generator.
Please be mindful of those around you when bringing your own

The City of La Vergne is looking for four or five people who would

"There's been some concern in the city that the parade isn't
like it used to be," said OTD Coordinator Angie Mayes. "The
people commenting that there aren't enough floats in the parade.
Also, there have been comments that not enough young people, school
groups or civic organizations take part in the parade."
Mayes said she urges all school clubs -- from primary to high
school -- to build a float for the 2010 parade.
Anyone wishing to be a part of the parade committee or with
ideas for the parade should e-mail OTD@lavergne.org. "It can be
as simple as a car hauler with hay on it or it can be as elaborate
as the club or group wants," she said. Committee meetings would
take place in the evenings so members of the public could attend.
