The La Vergne Police Department is made up of 46 commissioned officers,
including the Chief, detectives, narcotics/gang unit and patrol officers.
The La Vergne Police Department currently has more than 30 patrol cars
and 2 motorcycles which allow officers to patrol the streets of the city
during the three daily shifts. They patrol streets and business parking
lots to ensure the safety of the residents of La Vergne.
Six detectives currently work in the La Vergne Police Department’s Criminal
Investigation unit. The CID unit works hundreds of cases per year including
domestic and sexual crimes, robberies, burglaries and thefts, assault and

For children, department officers teach the nationally recognized
Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE)
and Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) programs
and the department supports a 100+ member Police
Athletic League (PAL) program.
In addition, the department continues to be active in Community Oriented
Policing, a popular style of policing. Out of this has come the Neighborhood
Watch Program and the Citizen’s Police Academy
(CPA). Officers and Neighborhood Watch programs also host special
community-related informative meetings to discuss issues such as gangs,
drugs and identity theft. The department also participates in
National Night Out.
The department is also heavily involved in the Judicial District 16’s
Domestic Violence program. At Christmas time, the department – along with
local motorcyclists – hosts a Toy Run to collect gifts for needy children.
Public Fingerprinting is available at the La Vergne Police Department
between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm, Monday through Friday
(when available). The cost for public fingerprinting is $10.00 per card.
The Police Department can accept checks or money orders made out to the
"La Vergne Police Department" and debt cards (fee applies).
You must present a valid driver's license, state issued ID card, or
passport. Fingerprint cards can only be given to the subject of the
fingerprints or to a governmental entity. For additional information,
