City Property Taxes Phone: (615) 793-6295 To download the City Budget Ordinance, click here. Effective July 1, 2011, city property taxes will be $1.00 per $100 of assessed value. To find out how much your tax bill will be, contact the Tax Department at (615) 287-8631. The tax rate is currently $1.00 per $100 of assessed value. The rate is set by the Board of Mayor and Alderman. Assessment rates are as follows: Residential Property - 25% of the appraised value per the Rutherford County Assessor's office. Commericial Property - 40% of the appraised value per the Rutherford County Assessor's office. Personal Property - 30% of the declared value. Property Tax Records Payment Options (Office): We take check, cash, and money order payments in the office. Payment Options (DropBox): Check and money order payments (please no cash) may be placed in the drop box located to the left of City Hall's back door. Please be sure to include your name, address, and if applicable account number with any payments so that they can be applied to the appropriate account. Payments made via the drop box will be processed the following working business day.
