Welcome
The City of La Vergne, Tennessee is one of the fastest growing
communities in the state as well as the country. The City -- which shares a city
limit with Nashville -- claims nearly 27,000 people. In addition, the city has the
largest industrial park and one of the largest subdivisions in the state.
Part of the reason for the growth is the city’s close location
to major interstates -- Interstate 24 runs through the city limits and Interstates 65
and 40 are within 15 miles -- as well as the availability of major city resources in
Nashville and nearby Murfreesboro.
The northernmost city in Rutherford County,
La Vergne is proud to be the home to international companies such as Bridgestone,
Ingram Books, Ingram Entertainment, Waldenbooks, Hollywood Video, and more.
In recent years, the industrial boom in the city has multiplied
numerous times, adding such well-respected companies as Nokian Tires, United Stationers,
Quality Industries, Thompson Machinery, Square D and Whirlpool Corporation.
The numerous employment opportunities, combined with a low city
property tax (50 cents per $100 assessed value), access to Percy Priest Lake
and location (just seven miles from Nashville International Airport
and two miles from the Smyrna Airport) are
just some of the advantages to living in La Vergne.
New and previously owned housing are available in the city which
offers all the conveniences of grocery and convenience stores, restaurants and other
shopping outlets while still maintaining the small town environment.
The City has three elementary, two middle, and one high school
providing a quality education for students of all ages. In addition, a number of local
colleges and universities are located within 20 miles of La Vergne, including
MTSU, Vanderbilt,
Motlow State, David Lipscomb
and Belmont.
All of this combined makes La Vergne one of the best cities in
the U.S. in which to live. Why not see for yourself?
We welcome you to La Vergne and hope that you will not only make a
cyber-visit but also visit our city in person!
